LivingStructure will be crafting a round house near Bristol, VT beginning spring 2015 and is offering internships over the course of the project. Candidates should possess a passion for buildings along with at least rudimentary knowledge of design, building, tools and natural materials. A stipend is provided.
The Bristol roundhouse will feature a Pattern Language-based design process and material palette drawn largely from the regional environment, utilizing a high measure of recycled content. We are developing a prototype for an on-site, screen-grid ICF block-making process for producing low-cost/high insulating wall components from 85% post-consumer waste. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about this process and participate in the block fabrication. The building process will also feature considerable onsite design and custom craftwork for interns to be a part of.
Interested candidates should forward a resume and/or letter to Joy Marcotte at firstname.lastname@example.org.
